The constellation series came about as an idea to incorporate AI tools into the creative process. A conversation with ChatGPT provided direction for the subject matter. Backgrounds are actual images from deep space, courtesy of NASA and the Hubble Telescope. Animals or mythological beasts were mostly the product of Midjourney, with Photoshop tweaking as required. These were layered using Photoshop and blending modes. Finally, constellation maps using more Hubble telescope images of stars were added, plus text. These were a fun experiment, so I hope you enjoy them.

Inks: Epson UltraChrome Pro Inks (10 colours)
Paper: Ilford GALERIE Prestige Smooth Pearl 310gsm, in a semi-gloss finish for reduced reflections when framed behind glass or perspex. This paper has a 90-year archival rating
Frames: Frames are solid wood and made to measure. Colour options of black, white or raw timber are simple, stylish and suitable for any decor
Mat board: 5cm width, fine texture white finish to enhance and define the image within the frame
Glazing: 2mm acrylic plexi-glass is 94% UV resistant, optical grade, shatterproof, and lightweight
Backing: Professional framers will dry-mount your print onto adhesive foamcore so it remains flat and secure. Foamcore is acid-free to protect your images from fading
Hanging System: Built-in D-rings and string, ready to hang

Canvas Prints hand-stretched onto timber with mirror-image printed edge

Printer: Epson SureColor S80600 Eco-Solvent Printer. Epson printers and inks are used by professional photographers everywhere for their outstanding photographic print quality and durability. The printing process protects the canvas and is water, UV and dust resistant.
Inks: Genuine Epson UltraChrome GS3 Inks (9 colours)
Canvas Material: Eclipse Premium Satin Solvent Canvas 310GSM
Frames: Framing is optional for canvas prints, as the wrapped edge of the timber support is printed with a mirror image of the outer 2cm of the selected image. However, adding a wooden frame in black, white or natural veneer with a 6mm ‘float’ (gap between canvas and frame) levels up the print to a gallery-ready artwork
Hanging System: Built-in D-rings and string, ready to hang

Acrylic Glass Prints

Print material: Images are printed directly onto a crystal-clear 4.5mm thick framing grade acrylic using UV LED technology and 7 colour AGFA inks. This process eliminates the possibility of bubbles or separation, which could be a problem if mounting a printed image to an acrylic face. The glossy acrylic provides depth and richness of colour to images, while also providing UV protection against fading.
Backing material: A 2mm thick black acrylic backing is professionally applied so that the printed acrylic block is supported, light and dirt are sealed out, and the hanging system does not damage the print
Finishing: The joined acrylic glass print and backing are laser cut and polished to size. No framing is necessary, giving this option a sleek look and full attention on the image
Hanging system: A wall mount is attached to the backing
